Given Topic tags are more for you than for me, AI should do the work

Started testing on a copy of my vault by setting up 2026-08-02 Initial indexing of my vault on Mac mini (by Claude) for one smaller embedding model to index the entire vault into a vector database

- My 24GB Mac mini memory gets pretty used up when running

- Started Manual topic tag library and AI model use (by Claude). Challenge is reviewing my current topic tags to land on the optimal topics and giving the model context for those defined topics
- Maybe I am better off making a My definitions with tags as the alias and just linking directly to those terms wherever needed? Have AI add the tag so that I have a secondary way to track topics

- Only have the AI edit files that were edited that day, not a retroactive review of all files
- Other method to run a retag on a single file vs on the whole vault?
- Archive the current topic tag structure as TEMP. Reference a set of already defined tags, start all the tags with “generated” so I can clean up later if needed
- Managing the tags going forward:
- Capture a minimum number of notes, consolidate into a broader topic
- Capture a maximum number of notes, break it down into sub tags
- Combine local AI model and frontier model to accomplish?
- When automating the topic tag list,
- Have it create a set number of topic tags, with no conceptual overlap/synonyms
- Some secrets could bleed into public Garage via a topic tag. Exclude secrets from being considered in the tagging process if automating the topic list
- Index new files every hour, as long as they have not been edited for the last 10mins. Index everything overnight
After this is set up, I could Use AI to add SEO stuff to the garage
